Primary Location: United States (US) - Illinois (US-IL) - Moline Function: Manufacturing Engineering Title: Facilities Engineer - Arch/Civil/Struct - 28233
As a Facilities Engineer, you will provide services in support of projects which include Architectural/Civil/ Structural engineering as related to implementing changes at any of the manufacturing facilities in the US. In addition, you will:
Provide Project Management using project management processes aligned with the Project Management Institute for small scope facility infrastructure projects typically up to $2M in capital spend including machine tools, production equipment, and other processes that support manufacturing and/or distribution operations. Project management responsibilities include cost, schedule, and quality control.
Coordinate with the work of external design professionals, and construction contractors from concept through implementation for your own projects or in support of other project managers.
Review engineering analysis of Civil or facility Architectural/Structural systems, confirm design decisions, and provide proposals for solutions to facility engineering issues at multiple factories.
Support or lead execution of projects including site modifications, building additions, office and manufacturing space remodeling, dock additions, spill containment, manufacturing equipment moves, and assembly line reconfigurations/relocations. Support or lead value engineering efforts to produce a cost effective designs.
Communicate and ensure a collaborative environment with high performance teamwork with Unit leadership, Manufacturing Engineering, environmental staff, supply management, maintenance, facilities staff, consultants, and contractors.
Support life, safety and building code analysis on facilities projects and support and implement programs within the organization to prevent injuries and illnesses. Assist in the identification and resolution of potential environmental, safety, ergonomic and health hazards.
Coordinate with internal Supply Management to develop project sourcing strategy and research market for qualified suppliers of materials and services. Prepare purchase requisitions for management approval.
Note: The hiring manager expects that the successful candidate should expect to perform this role primarily during first shift, but will be a need to provide occasional support on off-shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by project work. Candidate should expect to perform in this role for a minimum of 24 months.

What Skills You Need
Up to 5 years of experience with site and building Architectural/Civil/Structural Engineering infrastructure systems and facilities design.
Familiarity with project management concepts or direct project management experience on projects of up to $2M in capital spend focusing on schedule, budget and quality expectations with the ability to prioritize multiple active projects simultaneously.
Experience with using computer aided design and/or engineering tools
Knowledge of OSHA Safety standards and environmental laws and regulations
Experience or familiarity of the processes for procuring, contracting and coordinating multiple skilled trades, contractors, and outside consultants to achieve project objectives
What Makes You Stand Out
Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:
Registration as a licensed professional engineer, architect, or equivalent.
Formal project management training and PMP Certificate (Project Management Professional).
Relative experience with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Supervision, or Maintenance Engineering
Experience with non-mobile material handling systems (cranes, jibs, monorails, conveyors).
Demonstrated working knowledge of construction industry project delivery methods, controls, and construction contracts.
Experience with building Information Modeling.
Working knowledge of building codes, OSHA Safety standards, quality and environmental laws, regulations and goals.
Working knowledge of Factory Mutual Global protection standards
Education (or equivalent work experience)
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering preferred (University 4 yr. degree), or equivalent.
Or, a Bachelor of Architecture, or equivalent.
