The Corporate Chief Engineer is responsible to ensure FDR’s facilities operate at the highest level of efficiency, using creative thinking improvements and following known company standards as outlined in our SOP Manual.
Responsible for working with and assisting the General Manager and staff in each facility with the following:
Globally responsible for all mechanical and physical aspects of the facility.
Work with the management team to evaluate and establish budgetary goals and objectives focused on responsible utility management and purchasing.
Utility efficiencies should meet or exceed TRSA Clean Green Certification.
Effective use of the Plant Reports and P&L.
Establish and maintain an effective, PM schedule to ensure the plant machinery runs consistently at greater than 92.5% of the manufacturer’s specifications, utilizing the most cost effective approaches, and providing no less than 95% up time per machine. Such PM schedule should not negatively impact production.
Proper communication with the plant management of potential breakdowns and make arrangements to repair them with minimal interference with production
Effective monitoring and management of the POH report with the plant manager to ensure the 92.5% objective is achieved.
Establish a team and lead an effort using work assignments and clear objectives to ensure cohesion with the production department, focusing on quality and efficiency standards as it pertains to both wash and finishing quality.
Complete maintenance of the building including walls, floors, bathroom, ceiling exhaust fans, air conditioner, roof, etc.
Such Facility Maintenance should enable the facility to apply for and obtain TRSA HLAC certification.
Ensure compliance and training of all Local, State, Federal Regulations, including industry guidelines and standards.
Maintain top efficiency with maintenance and porter departments, achieving budgeted percentage of payroll and maintenance costs.
Proper subordinate management following both FDR and CBA guidelines, including where necessary, reporting in writing to our HR department or the union, using warning notices but at the same time maintaining good morale throughout the plant.
Other projects and assignments as instructed by the General Manager or the VP of Operations.
The role of the Corporate Chief Engineer requires travel to each facility. Employees are responsible for creating and submitting expense reports each week for expenditures incurred during travel.
