Globetrotters is seeking a licensed SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER experienced in the design of power distribution, building instrumentation control, fire alarm, lighting, and communication systems for commercial, institutional, and municipal facilities. Experience in roadway and highway lighting is desirable. This position will be assigned to our downtown Chicago office.
Lead and direct the design and coordination of project electrical systems
Serve as project manager as professional experience and growth dictates
Work closely with departmental management, other senior professionals and other team members
Able to effectively communicate design options to a diverse group
Complete projects within budget and schedule
Knowledge of other disciplines and direct interdisciplinary coordination
Ensure design conforms with all applicable building codes and industry standards
Perform engineering calculations
Prepare analyses of equipment selection
Perform site visits and issues reports
Edit and write specifications
Provide input into standards
Able to work independently, but also in a team environment
Manage a project from inception to completion
Other tasks as assigned
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering,
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Illinois
Must have 10 years of direct experience in ELECTRICAL power distribution design for all types of commercial, municipal, and institutional projects
Experience leading a team of electrical engineers and designers
Project Management experience
Must be proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
Working knowledge of MS Office products
Excellent oral and written communication skills
