The Buyer position will be based in Manchester, Connecticut. In this position, you will be responsible for the uninterrupted supply of component parts and indirect materials in support of manufacturing activity. Areas of responsibility may include purchasing raw materials, manufactured materials, various components, services and commodities as requested for internal activity and processes related to acquisition and supply of component materials to manufacturing.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:
Ensure appropriate component parts are delivered to manufacturing facility including ordering, expediting as requested, and close liaison with manufacturing, logistics, and warehouse personnel where applicable
Establish, monitor, and manage relationships with key suppliers and internal functions; anticipate and communicate demand schedule to suppliers
Create supplier specific strategies and improvement initiatives with the appropriate teams, ensure suppliers have requisite programs in place to respond to unanticipated demand spikes as needed; create and manage lead-time reduction programs with key suppliers
Analyze quotations using broad purchasing principles/concepts/practices in field of specialization for cost/price and value analyses to select, recommend or develop alternative suppliers
Check/approve purchase requisitions direct preparation of and follow-up on orders to expedite delivery/shipment as needed; obtain certifications of delivery and verify against purchase orders
Develop and maintain necessary records of purchase, price, stock and consumption, supplier/vendor, specifications
Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
Here is some of what you’ll need (required):
Mold, metal and/or tool manufacturing experience.
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field or equivalent education/experience required.
Experienced in ERP systems.
1-4 years of experience in purchasing or related field required, depending on level of education.
Strong experience managing multiple suppliers.
