The successful applicant is expected to advance the basic research and applied research in Li Lab projects to study the QQS (Qua Quine Starch) orphan gene and its network in regulation of plant metabolism, focusing on identification of proteins that interact with known starch regulatory network, and elucidation of protein-protein interactions. Possible approaches may include, but are not limited to, crop genetics, molecular genetics, genome editing, protein expression and purification, ChIP-seq, and protein-protein interaction assays etc. A PhD in biochemistry, biology, chemistry or a related field is required. Publication record should demonstrate expertise in protein functional and structural characterization. Signal transduction and/or bioinformatics expertise is a plus.
