As the role of faculty continues to evolve, responsibilities and expectations transform appropriately. A partial listing of faculty responsibilities includes curriculum development, assessment activities, appropriate use of technology to enhance student learning, participation on committees, academic advisement of students, mentoring and collaboration with colleagues, as well as participation in recruitment and retention activities. Faculty members are also expected to have flexible schedules to adjust to the needs of the student population, and to be open to exploring alternative teaching modalities. Full-time, tenure-line faculty position on the Cattaraugus County campus. Teaching assignments may include engineering technology courses related to electrical, mechanical design, welding, and/or machine tool technology. A background in mechatronics is desirable. Travel to teach on the Jamestown campus may be required. Position available August 2018.
Required: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in an engineering technology field or related discipline; expertise in basic electricity, industrial electronics, automation systems and controls; ability to teach in an additional engineering technology discipline other than electrical.
Preferred: Master's degree (or higher) in an engineering technology field or related discipline (note: a master's degree (or higher) will be required prior to tenure); background in mechatronics; community college teaching experience; demonstrated leadership ability.
