The position Senior Director - Commodity Management, Mechanicals, can be based in Asia. Responsible for developing & executing corporate and strategic plans and policies to achieve strong supplier relationships to assure consistent supply as well as leading a team of Commodity professionals in their delivery and implementation, to enhance the profitability of the business segment and its customers. (focus on Mechanical commodities)

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do…
Develop and define corporate and strategic plans for the Commodity team and deploy and direct through subordinate managers the implementation of strategic commodity objectives.
Be responsible for making final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensure effective achievement of operations objectives. Be comfortable with major decisions that will impact the profitability of the company.
Oversee the development and maintenance of strategic supplier relationships and act as escalation point for sites and commodity teams and to the executive team in the event of major supplier issues.
Liaise with Finance and senior management to ensure budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
Use broad vision and knowledge of the Flex capabilities to enhance the Commodity function through the introduction of technology roadmaps and new initiatives to identify supply and demand challenges.
Negotiate on behalf of Flex with regard to supplier contracts to achieve cost reductions where possible.
Work closely with management to develop team resources to add value to the commodity function with regard to performance management and talent acquisition.
Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.
Work with team to develop and implement sourcing strategies to identify suppliers that meet Flex requirements and can capably supply competitive products to meet existing and future requirements and/or to make sure that Flex is aligned with industry leading suppliers.
Ensure self, team and suppliers operate within Flex guidelines for Procurement Compliance and to follow-up on any non-compliance issues by working with the Flex Compliance Council.
Work with Flex legal to negotiate NDAs, Terms & Conditions and Global Business Agreements with suppliers as required.
Work internally at Flex to collaborate with sites, segments and other commodity teams in alignment with Flex’s published procurement policy for the benefit of Flex.
Work with Flex quality and other groups on supplier development and onboarding processes.
Here is some of what you’ll need (required)…
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training plus a minimum of 10+ years of related experience.
Must be familiar with mechanical commodities, such as Metal, plastics, machining, tooling, accessories
Must be familiar and comfortable with customer and supplier interface
Strong team management ability
Fluent Oral English and Chinese (Mandarin)
Able to travel per request
