The South Monmouth Regional Sewerage Authority is seeking to fill a Mechanic position vacancy in its Support Services Division. The Authority’s Support Services Division provides support in the form of mechanical, building and grounds maintenance, collection systems operation, vehicle maintenance and repair as well as any and all other support services as required by the Authority.
This position is one that is multi-dimensional, covering a broad spectrum of mechanical skillsets and disciplines; applicants are expected to be multi-talented, self-starters who can demonstrate upward mobility and a desire to broaden and apply their individual talents. Applicants with Wastewater/Water mechanical experience preferred all other applicants should have five or more years of prior experience in one or more of the following disciplines: pumps, motors, electrical controls/troubleshooting, rotating assemblies, gear reducers, transmissions etc. Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate skills, abilities and work ethics that will serve to provide limited personalized instruction, guidance and mentoring to subordinate positions within the Authority. Persons working in this position shall take direction from management, leaders, and other mechanics in carrying out workloads, goals, and objectives and shall act as a liaison in supervising or supporting other subordinate positions in accomplishing the Authority mission. Must be able to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions with testing equipment
