The City of Sunnyvale invites applications for the two vacancies for Water Pollution Control Plant Mechanic. This journey level position performs a variety of skilled mechanical, electro-mechanical and fabrication tasks at the City of Sunnyvale Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) and pump stations located throughout the City. Work in this class involves performing preventative maintenance as well as the repair, modification and adjustment of wastewater treatment and pumping station equipment. Incumbent should be well versed in the inspection, testing, troubleshooting, dismantling, installing, repairing, and overhauling of industrial equipment.

This position requires graduation from high school or tested equivalent; AND three years of journey level experience performing the duties of a maintenance mechanic, electrician and/or instrumentation technician in a municipal wastewater or related heavy industrial field which has included the maintenance and repair of heavy industrial machinery and equipment. Possession and continued maintenance of a valid California Class C driver’s license and a safe driving record.
