Reporting to the President, the Vice President for Facilities and Engineering is charged with matters relating to the buildings and grounds of the College. Such matters consist of capital construction to include overseeing the construction and completion of capital projects Bastin Hall and Capers Hall replacement, major repairs or renovations of existing buildings, development and maintenance of the grounds, and all other matters that pertain to the physical care and preservation of the facilities.
Develops an executable long range capital construction and facility maintenance plan. Manages construction and renovation programs/projects to meet the present and future needs of the College. Oversees project design using both in-house and contracted architectural and engineering services for capital and informal projects to provide a quality, cost effective products. Manages construction programs to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, architectural, etc.) or a related discipline is required. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction management, facilities management, and overseeing capital projects in a higher education setting.
Master’s degree and 5 years in public higher education preferred. Experience with the South Carolina building and development system preferred. South Carolina license or reciprocity as a Professional Engineer preferred. Certifications, such as CEFP, CFM, etc., a plus.
