The Production Manager will be based in Buffalo Grove, IL for the production of Medical devices in a 24/7 operations facility. This position will manage and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in the following areas of a manufacturing department; multi-level Automated assembly, electronic card/system testing and quality assurance to attain production goals consistent with cost, quality, and delivery requirements.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:
Directs department activities to manufacture new products, improve production techniques in a highly automated assembly production operation.
Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to determine manufacturing feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
Forecasts operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget requests.
Assists in the development of the strategic plan and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for the function.
Monitor quality standards of products
Supervise production staff on work method and quality checkpoints
Collaborate with Engineering (automation and vision), quality, Validation departments
Oversee the assembly operations to meet KOI
Utilize Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) techniques, initiate process improvements, cycle time reductions, cost reductions and other activities aimed at reducing/eliminating non-value-added activities in the process.
Create and validate processes/standards based on standard work and BPs
Conduct lean and six sigma training and accelerate the proliferation of Lean culture throughout the organization by co-leading and co-facilitating Lean Deployment.
Actively participate in the selection and executions of lean and six sigma projects.
Coordinate efforts of operations team by establishing procurement, production and engineering services policies and practices.
Here is some of what you’ll need (required):
Reviews and establishes material, equipment, and manpower resource requirements.
Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply in order to meet customer requirements.
Coordinates production activities with other functional groups such as planning and distribution.
Selects and develops personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function.
Ability to think strategically, define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Demonstrated experience building high performing teams
Here are a few of our preferred experiences:
Bachelor’s Degree with Minimum 12 + Years of experience in Automated Assembly of complex plastics parts, Electronics / PCBA Production.
High volume, highly automated manufacturing operations experience.
Experience working in an FDA regulated facility is a plus
Experience in Robotics, high speed, linear and rotary/dial automated assembly and inspection machines is a plus
Knowledge of ERP and Inventory Management best practices.
Experience in SMT or Backend process is a plus.
Demonstrated experience building high performing teams
History of eliminating variables and instilling predictability. Demonstrated experience in production environment with Lean and 6-sigma methodologies.
