Join our team and reimagine what your career can be. *This position may be located in either: Denver, CO; St. Paul, MN; Fargo, ND; or Bismarck, ND* Position Purpose Supports go-to-market team of business development and market managers, as well as client managers in the pursuit, positioning and securing water-related projects. Serves as a technical advisor, bringing industry knowledge, expertise, experience and innovation to win and execute water-related work. Works across all markets within the company and client types, including city, county, state, federal, tribal nations, water districts, MPOs, airports, land developers and contractors. Essential Functions •Provide leadership to a senior-level team of professionals focused on the water market •Supports the development of the functional/business plan to achieve annual goals and align with corporate strategy and recommend improvement of product/services •Make authoritative decisions and recommendations having significant impact on water type projects and related activities of the company •Anticipate clients’ needs and industry trends to advance and align the technical breadth and depth of the team to changing market conditions •Communicate and collaborate with leaders in production, marketing and project management to ensure resources are being utilized in the most efficient manner to provide client value. •Establish goals, objectives, and methods of accountability to ensure the most efficient use of resources, facilities, equipment, and supplies •Develop talent to satisfy company needs for engineering expertise focused on water markets and align those with the strategic goals of the organization •Ensures all projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives. •Provides expert technical guidance in the water market. •Represent team resources in meetings with stakeholders and clients Responsibilities •May serve as a senior technical resource on projects. •Provide technical innovation to guide and grow the water market. •Provide insight and guidance into development of water market goals and strategies. •Support business development efforts to existing or potential clients. •Set up, participate in and facilitate regular meetings with clients. •Utilize effective written and oral communication to clearly articulate the services and value the company provides, to secure additional work and market share. •Confer with team members and clients to lead, prepare, and participate in proposals and interviews. •Attend industry trade shows for presenting and business development. •Monitor Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes. Qualifications •A four-year degree in engineering or a related field is required •15+ years with a combination of design and management experience •Ability to demonstrate a high degree of creativity, foresight and mature judgement in planning, organizing and guiding extensive engineering programs. •Recognized having engineering expertise in one or more of the following markets: drinking water, surface water or wastewater •Ability to demonstrate company's technical expertise to external clients. Preferences: •M.S.in engineering or related field •Previous experience in project and senior level management •Experience with markets, clients and projects in multiple industries/service areas Hours and Travel This position requires the individual work 40+ hours per week with 50% of the time spent in the office and 50% out of the office.
