The Utility System Manager under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Operations-Water Utilities is responsible to perform a variety of managerial, supervisory, skilled, and technical work in the planning, construction, operation, repair, maintenance and replacement of municipal wastewater collection and water distribution systems. The Utility System Manager is also responsible for the management of human resources, inventory processes, equipment acquisition, staff training and development, and program management. Ensures reliable, safe, water and wastewater services that are compliant with regulatory agencies and customer expectations. Recommends actions related to hiring, discipline, advancement, or other changes in employee status, and assists in the preparation, administration and monitoring of the Department budget. As a representative of management, supports the mission, vision, strategic plan, goals and decisions of the Department and City.
Minimum requirements include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field or equivalent years of experience in a closely related field required and
Considerable experience with a minimum of five year’s experience related to the construction, repair and maintenance of water distribution or waste water collection or treatment systems including the operation of related maintenance equipment required or public utility management.
Must acquire Missouri Department of Natural Resources Distribution License DS III and CWEA or equivalent within 12 months of employment and
Valid State motor vehicle operator’s license and acceptable driving record required
