DuPont’s Transportation and Advanced Polymers (T&AP) is looking for a highly motivated individual to drive application/business development for our business. The business development consultant will be a part of the Americas commercial team and be responsible for driving topline growth by developing and commercializing new applications using DuPont’s T&AP’s portfolio of engineering plastics in the electrical, consumer electronics and Industrial market spaces by working externally with customers and internally with sales, marketing and technology teams to deliver new innovative and value-added solutions.

Brief Job Description:
Translate T&AP material solutions and technology into win-win growth for DuPont and our customers
Responsible for scouting and identifying new growth opportunities with new and existing customers to build a healthy application development pipeline with T&AP’s portfolio of engineering plastics
Target and influence key decision makers in the targeted industry value chain to drive rapid extension of successful applications
Build in-depth knowledge of both in-kind and not-in-kind solutions to anticipate trends and changes to our value proposition.
Ability to articulate the comparative advantages of T&AP materials and build a solid value proposition for our products
Perform preliminary evaluations on select new technologies, market applications or market segments.
Integration with global Electrical/Consumer Electronics sales and marketing teams to ensure customer coordination and alignment as well as sharing experience and knowledge
Work closely with OEMs/distribution/value chain partners in North America to generate leads, obtain specification wins, and hold those specifications
Selected customer responsibility mainly in the NAFTA region

T&AP offers world-class materials and solutions to meet critical needs in the industrial , consumer & electrical markets. We can deliver profitable growth directly at customers and OEM’s through the application development process (ideation, collaboration, design, execution, extension). This role provides the opportunity to demonstrate leadership by growing the T&AP business. The role has visibility internally and enables broad networking externally. Successful performance in this role will generate tangible results for the business and position the Business Development Consultant for greater responsibility in future roles.
Key interfaces: The Consultant will interface extensively with customer personnel (including business management, technology, sales, marketing, tech service, etc.), value chain partners, as well as with multi-functional internal teams.
Academic technical education - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Material Science, Plastics, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (or Equivalent)
Strong drive for results and a passion to help drive growth to the business
Demonstrated project management experience & technical depth in engineering plastics.
Travel - This position requires 30~50% travel.
5-10 years’ experience in engineering plastics industry in sales, marketing, development, technical service or other relevant customer facing experiences
Direct responsibility for growth (project management/business development) preferred.
Competencies - Communication proficiency, initiative, teamwork orientation, personal, effectiveness/credibility, technical capacity, project management, time management
Trainings / certifications preferred:
Strong knowledge/experience with Electrical/Consumer/Electronics market and value chain for plastics & the business development process
Experience in business development with Engineering Plastics, project management, account planning, marketing plans
Deep knowledge of the Polymers/ Engineering plastics market and industry
Experience with CAE / Moldflow a plus
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Use and knowledge of SalesForce.Com
