The current vacancy is in the Environmental Engineering division within the Public Works Department, which operates and maintains the County's wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations and collection pipelines, as well as the public water systems in Sheridan.
This individual will develop and oversee staff and consultants who provide engineering, permitting, environmental compliance, facility planning and public education, participate in budget preparation and administration, and provide highly technical support to the Deputy Director of Public Works. Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible professional experience in the Environmental Engineering field, including two years of supervisory responsibility.
Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with major course work in business management, environmental studies, solid waste management, economics, civil engineering or a related field.
License or Certificate:
Possession of current registration as a professional Civil or Mechanical engineer. If registration is granted by a state other than California, registration granted by the State of California must be obtained within one year of employment.
May need to possess a valid driver’s license as required by the position. Proof of adequate vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required.
NOTE: Applicants receiving their degree outside the United States must submit proof of accreditation by a recognized evaluation agency.
