Provides technical assistance to Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, Shipping/Receiving and Maintenance to solve complex problems and advance the continuous process improvement effort through effective corrective action implementation and associated quality tools. Responsible for new product process validation including CMM programming and design of fixtures. Communicates quality problems and PPAP issues to suppliers and customers.
Complete layouts on parts for PPAP, problem solving, etc.
Participate in/initiate cross functional teams in the pursuit of problem solving and mistake proofing quality problems
Assist with Corrective Actions and Open Issues, as needed.
Test parts (functional, dimensional, physical properties, etc.)
Perform capability studies and assist with GD&T as needed
Analyze SPC data for process improvement and corrective actions
Schedule the lab for all layouts and/or metrology studies as required
Conduct internal audits and assist with maintaining the Quality System to ISO/TS16949 and ISO 14001 standards
Interact with customers in a professional manner
Fill in for Quality Manager as necessary
Perform other duties as directed by management
Technical degree or certification with 3 years experience in quality engineering or equivalent level of education and experience. Automotive experience strongly preferred. 2-5 yrs of CMM Programming or related experience.
