This is a technical position responsible for cyber security risk identification and mitigation, and administration of a multi-site municipal network. Lead changes through planning, approval, and implementation stages. Oversee disaster recovery planning, testing, and implementation.
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Seven (7) years or more related work experience and a proven technical aptitude across multiple network platforms.
Advanced knowledge in designing, installing, and maintaining network equipment including Next Generation Firewalls, Switches (Layer 2 & 3), Wireless Access Points, and Point to Point Wireless.
Knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting.
Must be proficient in the administration of network storage, Cyber Security, and be able to work with multi-mode and single-mode fiber, documenting fiber circuits, working with fiber transceivers, and mini-gibs.
Communication with other staff members and occasionally the public.
Organizational ability as there is a large amount of information that needs to be retrievable at a moments notice.
Ability to be self-motivated and work alone.
Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to work with a team in both leader and member roles.
Ability to foresee the needs of the users and follow industry trends.
Ability to be innovative and see a new technology and its value within the Utility.
Ability to lead and motivate the department to perform.
