The Water Authority of the Cayman Islands is seeking a qualified individual to manage its Operations-Wastewater Division and be responsible for the operations, maintenance and improvement of the Authority’s public wastewater infrastructure. He/she will report to the Deputy Director, conduct continuous evaluation and analysis of service delivery and provide coaching, direction and training to supervisees.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Sanitary, Mechanical, Environmental, or similar) and, preferably, an internationally recognized professional engineering qualification.
At least five (5) years’ post-graduate engineering experience in the operation and administration of a wastewater (collection and/or treatment) system.
Wastewater collection system or treatment certification at the highest level offered where resident or most recent place of work.
Specific experience with the installation, operation and maintenance of large capacity pumps and instrumentation (such as SCADA and online monitoring systems) related to wastewater utilities is essential.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products is required; familiarity with basic programming concepts for process control equipment (programmable logic controllers) is preferred.
Excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision to meet specific deadlines.
Must be physically fit and able to lift moderately heavy items.
The Water Authority offers competitive salaries, an international medical insurance plan, a pension plan and generous vacation benefits. The salary range for this post is US$89,700 – US$112,100 per annum.
