Veo is building safety-critical systems leveraging advanced computer vision, robotics, and 3D sensing that will transform manufacturing. Our products need to comply with strict regulations for safety in industrial environments, but our advanced software is breaking new ground in safety-critical functionality. We need someone well-versed in enforcing regulatory compliance from design through production who can balance that with the open-mindedness and creativity to find ways to map regulatory requirements to a startup's cutting-edge technology development.
Become Veo’s knowledge expert in regulations- determining which apply to our product, staying current with upcoming regulations, and working with certifying bodies to comply with those standards
Lead company wide cross-functional projects to enact programs and processes to ensure compliance to new or changed product regulations and safety certification requirements
Effectively communicate with executive, product, development, test, and manufacturing teams to develop processes for standard compliance and educate teams on those processes
Participate in document review and design reviews to ensure products meet applicable regulations and evaluate product changes for impact to current or planned certification approvals
Facilitate cross-functional teams in the development and maintenance of risk management documentation including Risk Management Plan, Hazard Analysis, and FMEAs
Support team in creation, review, and approval of product and engineering requirements, traceability to risk and specifications, and verification & validation testing
A seasoned Regulatory Compliance & Quality professional with 5+ years of experience as a Compliance Engineer, Quality Engineer, Design Assurance Engineer, or Systems Engineer who has successfully certified complex, innovative hardware/software products in a safety critical environment
Deeply knowledgeable of regulated environments such as functional safety (IEC 61508, IEC/EN 62061, ISO 13849, ISO 12100), robotics (ISO 10218, ANSI RIA 15.06), or medical devices (ISO 13485)
Experienced with requirements definition and management for performance, standards compliance, and testing.
Familiar with requirements management tools such as JAMA, Helix, or DOORS
Comfortable discussing technical details with both software and hardware engineers
An effective communicator who can easily translate between business, regulatory, and technical stakeholders
An enthusiastic self-starter who can help Veo build its regulatory compliance tools and processes and work to scale them appropriately as the company grows
Auditing experience, Six Sigma certification
Familiar with electronic quality management tools such as Arena
Familiar with software development workflows, tools, Git, and markdown
Experience with 3D sensors, computer vision, and/or robotics
