Job Description The Medical Products Division is seeking an Engineering Manager for the General Medical Products' business. The Engineering Manager is responsible for production support, sustaining engineering activities, and design documentation maintenance through the entire commercial production product lifecycle while leading, developing, and mentoring Process and Quality Engineers. This role ensures manufacturing technical support, integrates technical product knowledge, uses technical product knowledge to influence evolutions of the product, and integrates improvements internally and with external partners involved with the product line. (Within Medical Products Division, this position is known as the Manufacturing Technical Leader.)
Lead team of 5-10 engineers responsible for managing technical aspects of production processes and design documentation for multiple implantable medical devices Provide technical support for Regulatory and Quality Assurance to maintain compliance in current and target global markets including Audit support and execution of divisional compliance projects As a member of a cross-functional product leadership team, interpret internal and external business opportunities and recommend solutions to meet objectives; incorporate technical projects and capital plan into annual operating plan in support of business objectives. Maintain investment to plan. Ensure sound technical approaches and provide coaching and mentorship to engineers with regard to validations, design control, test methods and product release, product and process risk management, and compliant documentation standards Lead engineering team to solve complex problems using robust investigation methodology, apply statistical methods for design of experiments and statistical process control, and risk based decision making leveraging FMEA tools. Provide support for manufacturing issues, CAPAs, SCARS, and audits Drive the performance and development, and compensation processes for the engineering team Practice, teach, and promote the Gore Culture, hold yourself and others accountable to their commitments, meeting expectations, and for practicing the culture Build diverse teams and create a respectful, trusting and inclusive environment, while at the same time, supporting the development and contribution of all Associates. Required Job Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant technical field * Minimum 5 years in an engineering role in a manufacturing environment, with experience relevant to Key Expectations including complex problem solving, validation, risk based decision making * Minimum 3 years of experience managing an engineering team, and effectively collaborating and influencing cross-functionally * Successful track record of fostering an inclusive and engaging team environment * Demonstrated ability to develop additional technical competencies in self and others Desired Qualifications: Experience within medical device or regulated manufacturing environment Gore is committed to a drug-free workplace.
