The Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) is an operating division of the Metropolitan Council. MCES operates and maintains the wastewater collection and treatment system for the Minneapolis-St. Paul seven-county metropolitan area, which includes approximately 600 miles of regional sanitary sewers and eight regional wastewater treatment plants. MCES treats an average of 250 million gallons of wastewater daily, providing cost-effective service to more than 2.6 million people in 109 customer communities. MCES treatment plants consistently earn state and national awards for complete compliance with their environmental permits. MCES also is nationally renowned for its superior work monitoring air and water quality and planning for a long-range water supply to meet future demand.
Full Salary Range: $82,389-$116,854
Will be responsible for managing the planning, scheduling, and prioritization of maintenance and repair activities for MCES wastewater treatment plants. Will assist with day-to-day supervision of maintenance activities, staff, contractors, and assist in development and capital planning.
Four (4) year degree in mechanical technology or closely related field AND a total of six (6) years of experience that must include the following:
Performing industrial equipment repair (servicing, maintaining, and installing pumps, compressors, generators, turbines, mechanical drives, hydraulic systems, etc. and machining, fabrication, and welding)
Two (2) years planning, scheduling, and/or work estimation experience
Three (3) years in a lead or supervisory role
Valid driver's license
Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) from the Association of Asset Management Professionals (AMP)
Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) from the Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP)
Experience in developing detailed scopes of work for competitive bid of maintenance repairs
Experience supervising contractors
