Cardno is currently seeking a qualified Construction Manager for a USAID-funded project in Vietnam. The Construction Manager will serve as the expert in construction management planning in conformance with approved project documents and objectives. S/he will work closely with the government in developing and implementing this component of the project. S/he will serve as an expert on site construction management and activities planning for the project.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor's Degree (civil or environmental engineering, construction management or closely related field) and at least 5 years of construction management or related experience.
Preferred: Professional registration as an engineer or a construction manager in the United States and a PMP certification.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
Minimum: A minimum of five (5) years of construction management and construction site planning experience with civil and environmental remediation projects.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Proven experience developing and finalizing high quality deliverables.
Experience preparing reports for USAID or other donor-funded programs.
Demonstrated experience interacting with host county nationals, government agents, counterparts, and international donor agencies.
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Fluency in English abilities in Vietnamese highly preferred.
Experience in SE Asia and especially Vietnam highly preferred.

Helps the preparation and Implementation of a Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) Plan for each project remediation projects
Assists in pre-construction activities by reviewing design submittals for design-build work as outlined in the design-build contract documents and at the various design stages during construction and make recommendations to USAID to: accept, reject, or request the implementing contractor revise and resubmit.
Provide day-to-day construction management and oversight of implementation contractor(s) as USAID’s eyes and ears at the site.
