The Collections System Manager has a wide variety of duties. A strong engineering background in sanitary sewer or stormwater collection and conveyance systems is the foundation for the position. The incumbent actively supervises a group of professionals, provides guidance, motivation, and explores opportunities to make work process improvements. Oversees design review and inspection of developers' sewer system extension projects and individual building sewer connections in accordance with the County permitting process. Provides assurance that sewer systems and connections are designed and constructed in compliance with Federal, State, and County regulations, codes, and standards. Helps to develop an overall Sewer Utility asset management program that coordinates data from two separate asset programs. Responsible for developing monitoring programs, such as inflow and infiltration, to assist with public outreach efforts and provide feedback for prioritizing construction projects. Coordinates elements of the work group with other Sewer Utility work groups, other divisions in Public Works, and other county departments. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a vital part of the position for managing staff, reporting to the Division Manager, making presentations, and interfacing directly with sewer utility customers, developers, engineers, and the public.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Engineering (civil, mechanical or environmental) and six years of engineering experience to include two years of supervisory/management experience; OR
Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) and two years of supervisory/management experience.
