TESLA, INC. has the following position available at its corporate headquarters in Palo Alto, CA:
Staff Supplier Industrialization Engineer. Conduct supplier management and development through technical guidance on manufacturing processes of mechanical and electronic assemblies. Design manufacturing concepts for automation and process controls to deliver quality parts and develop quality plans. Communicate with internal and external teams required, traveling to suppliers in different regions, and on-the-spot critical decision making. Deliver on time quantities of high quality component parts into Tesla’s production processes to enable extremely rapid development cycles and product launches.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related. Seven (7) years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, project management, supplier management or a combination thereof. Work experience to include: SMT Manufacturing Process Techniques; Automated Robotic Assembly Process; GD&T - ASME Y14.5; ISO Standards including ISO/TS 16949; AIAG Core Tools (such as PPAP, APQP, 8D, Control Plan, PFMEA, Flow Chart or MSA); Six Sigma (Certification not required); Project Management; Supplier Development and Supplier Management; DFM (Design for Manufacturing) for PCBA and Mechanical Assemblies; and Fixture, tooling and gauge design. Approximately 35% international travel and 5% domestic travel to supplier sites for supplier site audits, new product builds technical support, business review meetings and urgent quality issues that require on site Tesla support. Travel expenses to be paid by employer. Successful completion of reference and background checks is required.
Wage: $150,000.00/ yr. (8am-5pm, Mon-Fri)
