The City of Phoenix is seeking a results-oriented, experienced and high-performing Deputy Water Services Director. The Deputy Water Services Director will oversee several functional sections including Asset Management, Development Planning, Water Resources, Security Management, and possibly Infrastructure Records and Process Control. These functional sections collectively represent approximately 100 employees with an annual operating budget of $10-15M. The Deputy Water Services Director will be responsible for the Department’s asset inventory and work order system; management of the departments critical infrastructure records; development of the water and wastewater infrastructure master plans; water resource planning and master plans; reviews for development related issues such as stipulations, zoning cases, and annexation requests; blue stake marking of all water and sewer infrastructure; management of security standards, badging, and emergency management plans; and management and maintenance of the Process Control Network. A successful candidate will possess a working knowledge of water and wastewater systems such as treatment processes, booster stations, lift stations, pressure reducing valves, and both pressurized and non-pressurized pipe systems.
The Deputy Water Services Director is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the divisions including work assignments, budgeting, and resolving personnel issues. The position requires the use of independent judgment and initiative in making technical decisions and policy recommendations of considerable difficulty. Work is performed under the general direction of an Assistant Water Services Director and performance is evaluated based on results achieved.

Up to $129,917 annually. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. The City contributes 8.5% of salary into 457/401(a) plans with no matching required. $3,360/annual car allowance and $1,440/annual cell phone allowance.
