The Quality Manager is responsible for making decisions with regards to quality standards across the site, ensuring all products meet all quality requirements for each customer. Must ensure that quality complaints are tracked accurately, and controls are put in place to prevent future occurrences. The Quality Manager will make critical decisions regarding quality discipline and training and will partner with other supervisors and managers to support adherence to quality processes.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
Lead a team of quality techs, leads and a Supervisor.
Development, implementation and administration of quality policies and procedures to all employees.
Ability to create and deliver effective quality training for all employees.
Creation and implementation of a standard quality audit structure across the site and measure compliance.
Lead and train others in quality audits throughout the site and take corrective actions as necessary.
Maintain up to date inspection reports, files, quality programs and samples, including Pest Control Program, GFSI, and/or other programs to meet customer requirements and food safety compliance.
Oversee the development, implementation, review and maintenance of BRCGS. Develop processes and procedures to support the plants to continually and consistently adhere to BRCGS policies and procedures. Implement appropriate actions to ensure the integrity of the BRCGS processes and procedures.
Communicate to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of quality controls in all areas.
Facilitate customer responses by establishing customer relationships and working with site, sales and/or customer service. Facilitate formal corrective actions at customer request.
Collect, organize, analyze, report and communicate data to internal and external customers.
Facilitate and assist support departments with technical expertise for process improvements, and environmental compliance.
Lead Continuous Improvement reporting, activities and training within the plant.
Promote an environment of continuous improvement of quality.
Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and BRCGS quality standards.
Facilitate corrective actions with the support of the Production Manager and HR Manager to ensure all quality and production policies and procedures are met and followed.
Bachelor’s degree in a Science or Engineering Field.
Minimum 5 years quality experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment required.
Statistical / math background required.
Proficiency in daily use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Power Point) and Outlook email. Advanced use of Excel preferred.
Familiarity with quality data software is required.
Experience with compliance systems (document control, recordkeeping, etc.) is required.
Experience with problem solving within a continuous improvement environment is required.
Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
Must have strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
Quality experience in a thermoforming manufacturing environment is preferred.
A highly energetic and passionate candidate with experience in multiple platforms, a high number of SKUs, and frequent product changeovers preferred.
Normal dexterity and weightlifting requirements (requires extensive walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing and lifting up to 30 pounds).
