Subject Matter Expert - Water Resources

What does this job entail?

The Subject Matter Expert – Water Resources will be responsible for:

• Coordinating with the engineering team and clients on aspects of project execution (proposal, budget, scope, meetings, analysis, design, presentation, utility coordination, specifications, reports, etc.).
• Engineering calculations and drawings, field observations, preparing design reports and exhibits, developing 1D and 2D computer models, floodplain mapping and watershed planning.
• Leading and advising on floodplain management while acting as point of contact for flood risk assessments, mapping, reporting and communication to communities and stakeholders.
• Creating and developing complex hydrologic and hydraulic models and analyses including model coupling of riverine and coastal systems.
• Developing watershed master plans to protect communities from flooding, improving water quality, and increasing watershed resiliency.
• Evaluating, analyzing and developing conveyance systems for stormwater, flood protection, riverine, green infrastructure, urban and coastal projection systems and emergency planning.
• Providing review and overseeing project work and reports prepared by junior level staff members; and coaching, mentoring, and developing junior level engineers and staff.
