The City of Idaho Falls is accepting applications for an Accountant III. This position performs a variety of professional accounting and financial analysis, monthly and yearly reporting, and budget preparation related to City utility services. Reviews the application of accounting policies and procedures ensure that appropriate controls are achieved and that necessary financial information is being produced.
Responsible for the annual audit of the Idaho Falls Power Fund and all related accounting processes. Supports and ensures compliance with related city and utility polices, such as Idaho Falls Power Financial Stability and Creditworthiness Policy. This includes determining and making all Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), reconciliations, documentation, supervision of inventory counts and adjustments, communication with the auditors, and implementation of viable audit recommendations. Accurately reviews and maintains a variety of financial records and prepares reports.

Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with Bachelor Degree in Accounting; AND Four to five years of accounting, industry experience, or audit experience.
