Position Overview:

The individual in this role is expected to use mechanical and/or industrial engineering knowledge and best practices to the development and improvement of products that meet or exceed our customer’s expectations for function, performance, and durability.  The individual in this role is expected to work in a highly collaborative cross-functional environment.

Position Responsibilities:

• Understand internal quality (IQ) and external quality (EQ) for supported value stream and work to improve metrics
• Draft and revise controlled documents
• Developing innovative gauge design concepts and solutions for manufacturing
• Delivering mechanical designs, developed using engineering principles, in a variety of material technologies including: wood, glass, metals, plastics, and composites
• Technical Documentation
• Technical Presentations
• Engineering work orders
• Product Quality Improvements
• Cost Reduction Initiatives
• Production Support
• Certification Support

Qualifications:

BS degree in Engineering or Technology

1-3 years experience including internships in a manufacturing, continuous process environment required

Experienced with 3D CAD modelling package

Demonstrated use of dimensional tolerance analysis

Knowledge of PFMEA, quality programs, SPC, process capability and lean manufacturing principles

Working knowledge of measurement tools and systems

Demonstrated ability to design experimentation, analyze results and draw conclusions

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Quick learner with high level of ambition and drive

Strong people skills, able to work in a highly collaborative team environment

Work Requirements:

Some travel to customer job sites and other AW plants is required

Profit Sharing:

During 2022, each eligible Andersen employee will receive $1,000 for each full fiscal quarter they are actively employed and fully vaccinated against COVID-19. An eligible employee hired during a quarter will receive a prorated payment based on the number of days employed during the quarter. Those eligible include fully-vaccinated regular full-time and part-time employees (at least 20 hours per week) who are not subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
