Responsible for overall coordination of MCW Dept of Anesthesiology Quality and Safety program activities. Primary accountability for coordination and implementation of Quality Improvement (QI) and Performance Improvement (PI) initiatives in support of superior healthcare quality, safety, and operational outcomes. Provision of consultation and support to multi-disciplinary performance improvement teams in order to accomplish measurable process improvements. Consistently utilizes performance improvement methodology, tools and techniques in a clinical environment in order to achieve institutional goals. Accountable for tracking , analysis and dissemination of quality and safety data.
The Clinical Program Coordinator II, Dept Quality & Safety represents the Quality Performance Improvement (QPI) department in collaborations with departmental quality chairs, division directors, physicians, nurses, health information management staff, information services staff, other professional personnel, and support staff in building a clinical performance improvement structure within the Medical College of Wisconsin.
This position coordinates patient information and care with all other procedural and surgical departments at FMLH and FMLH Quality Office, FMLH/MCW/MCWAH Risk Management, and Patient Relations at FMLH.
Assists with developing, planning, and implementing process improvement projects and the annual Dept quality plan
Maintains the Dept quality program databases including tracking and reporting
Develops and disseminates quality of care dashboards within the department of anesthesiology
Interfaces with division directors and their quality leads to facilitate the development of measures of quality and value in the Department.
Directly coordinates Division director’s quality improvement projects and associated initiatives as indicated
Manages required educational mandates for anesthesia providers across the enterprise under the direction of the Quality Director
Ensures all providers are compliant with regulatory requirements related to quality and safety
Maintains reporting cadence for departmental reports, division reports and individual reports related to quality for faculty, residents, CRNAs, AAs.
Collates the input of data sources from EPIC complication reporting, hospital reporting, grievance and other data sources.
Oversees and maintains national database participation (AQI, MPOG)
Maintains a redcap database of confidential case reviews for peer review and OPPE.
Assists in preparation of scholarly activity related to Dept quality and safety initiatives
Assists in the preparation of IRB documents for QI projects that are deemed as quality improvement.
Strategizes with the Vice Chair and Director of Quality to plan and organize the annual quality plan and associated activities.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor of Science (Nursing/Other Clinical Discipline) or healthcare equivalent
Experience: Healthcare experience required; quality and safety work experience highly preferred.
