Primary Responsibilities
Supervises Forging and Heat Treat Area
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in heating, forging, and inspecting workpieces and products
Coordinates workload heat treat activities (Quench, Normalizing, Tempering and Annealing)
Schedules the machine operations to meet customer demands.
Oversees the efficiency and productivity of the shop to drive waste reduction.
Develops personnel to ensure technical coverage for equipment operation.
Supports manufacturing flow by communicating adherence to plan and/or shortfalls to plan.
Develop recovery plans as needed through resources and equipment availability.
Conduct safety meetings and direct report trainings.
Calculate and fill Forge orders
Assure that Forging and Heat Treat equipment and fixtures are adequately maintained to guarantee the safety of people and quality of the product.
Ensure the highest level of safety and good housekeeping in work environment through implementation of safety practices
Basic Requirements:
Three years min. supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility
Three years min. experience on forging processes, setup and run forge presses or equivalent (open and close die).
Experience on Heat Treat Furnaces and quench, tempering, normalize, annealing processes.
Knowledge of the metallurgical properties of the different material used.
Knowledge of volumetric calculations to determine size of material to forge.
Familiar with different types of dies to be used for forging operations and their setting up mechanisms
Familiar with forging defects and how they can be prevented
Able to read blueprints and use measuring instruments like vernier, calipers, micrometers, gauges.
Familiar with MRP system and MS Office
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred .
