Drosophila Genetics and Systems Biology
The UC Irvine Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (CFCCC) invites applications for a tenured faculty position at the level of Professor in the Departments of Development and Cell Biology and/or Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. We seek outstanding candidates whose research addresses the mechanisms underlying basic principles of organ growth and homeostasis relevant to cancer (e.g., cell competition, proliferation vs differentiation, organ size). Preference will be given to applicants whose research integrates Drosophila genetics with other model organisms / systems, using cutting edge molecular genetic and cell biological approaches. Priority will be given to candidates whose research will drive interdisciplinary collaborations, interactions across departments, and affiliations with campus centers and institutes. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, lead a rigorous and highly competitive research program with an international reputation, contribute to teaching at the graduate and/or undergraduate levels, and participate in leadership roles at UCI.
