The Water Quality Association (WQA) is seeking a responsive, detail-oriented individual who will provide a high level of customer service to external and internal stakeholders. Our Events Team currently has two full-time employees, and you could be the third!
The events coordinator will assist in the operational planning and implementation of the Association's convention, conferences, meetings, and webinars. Through a detail-oriented, disciplined, and organized approach, the events coordinator will apply and expand their knowledge of event operations to execute in-person and virtual events efficiently and effectively.

The Events Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the execution of all WQA & WQRF events, including conventions, conferences, and meetings. An integral part of the Events team, the coordinator delivers exceptional customer service and ensures strategic goals are met for all events.
Supports the Events Director and Events Manager in the planning and execution of all association events to ensure objectives are me
Supports the Events Manager in providing registration and housing services to ensure a positive participant experience in advance of and onsite at events.
Assists with the logistical management of events, including specifications, AV, food & beverage, signage, and transportation, as required.
Manages setup and delivery of event mobile app for annual Convention & Exposition.
Coordinates the shipping of materials to and from events.
Cultivate relationships with event exhibitors, sponsors, and participants.
Develop and maintain relationships with event vendors, including hotels, caterers, technology providers and others as needs dictate.
Leads cross-functional teams through the event planning and execution process for all in-house events, including biannual Board of Governors Meetings, biannual Staff Outings and others as needed.
Works with the Marketing & Communications, External Affairs and Membership teams to support effective communications to all event stakeholders.
Generates weekly metrics reports and post-event analytics for internal distribution
Supports the administration of the Events Committee
Contributes to the team’s overall success by identifying challenges and proactively seeking solutions.
Proactively communicates project status and program deadlines.
Provides organizational support for the Events Director and Events Manager
Special projects and other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in hospitality, event management, business administration, communications, marketing, or related field, required.
One to three (1-3) years prior hospitality industry experience preferred
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects independently and simultaneously.
Meticulous attention to detail
Soft skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfort with collaborative team approach within the department and across the organization
Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook and has an interest in exploring and embracing new technologies.
