Position Summary
The Sustainability and Supplier Diversity Specialist position will be based in Houston, TX.
At Hess, we are developing our Supply Chain organization and processes to improve business value and to intentionally contribute to more sustainable and equitable growth. The position reports to the Sr. Manager S&SD to implement our Supplier Diversity program, and Sustainability/Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG). The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for sustainability and supplier diversity.
Responsibilities: Under direction of S&SD manager, responsible for supporting focused Sustainability and Supplier Diversity development activities.
Support implementation and growth of Sustainability and Supplier Diversity strategic plans in order to drive improvement while engaging various internal and external stakeholder groups.
Engages supply chain team and business partner to embed supplier diversity into supply chain practices including category management, contracting, and supplier management.
Leverages technology, digital tools, and data to support supplier identification, communication, registration portal development and reporting to maintain compliance, increase usage and improve user experience.
Influence, engage, and partner with industry groups and non-governmental agencies to support Hess strategic business objectives.
Manage supplier communications, address inquiries, and connect suppliers to business needs as required.
Perform other duties as requested that support the success of Hess’s Sustainability and Supplier Diversity program
Qualifications
Experience & Skills
Collaborative individual, who has demonstrated ability to work cross functionally and build trusted and collaborative relationships across all business units to achieve results.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree required Supply Chain, engineering or equivalent
5+ years of relevant professional work experience in Supply Chain Management/Procurement, Operations, and/or related function
Experience in strategy, negotiations, project management and supplier contracting.
Change Management experience
Knowledge of Upstream and Midstream Oil & Gas is a plus
Knowledge of key topics in one or more of: sustainable procurement, supplier diversity, data analytics or equivalent
Lean, six sigma planning a plus
Proficiency with supply chain applications and ERP systems (e.g., Ariba, SAP, etc.) is a plus
Candidate must have ability to work independently and prioritize work assignments.
Excellent communications skills and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to positively influence stakeholders
