Serving under and receiving direction from the General Manager, the Director of Engineering plans, directs, organizes, integrates, manages, and provides oversight of the services of the Engineering & Compliance functions of the District. The District Engineer is the Compliance Officer and provides oversight and project management of capital improvement projects, contractor and contract services, and directs and manages the development of short- and long-term goals and objectives consistent with the Strategic Plan and annual business plan, ensuring their effective execution. The ideal candidate is a driven leader, effective communicator, and proficient engineer who is motivated by executing excellent results in a timely manner and within budget. Knowledge of civil engineering principles as applied to solid and hazardous waste management, including the planning, development, design, maintenance, construction, and operation of solid waste management landfill is required. The annual salary range for the Director of Engineering is $156,185 – $199,336; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
