Job Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for implementing and executing inspection, testing, and evaluation methods to ensure that aviation products adhere closely to company standards. This position works closely with both internal and external customers, preparing reports by collecting data on inspections or other aspects which are analyzed in detail. They also work according to deadlines while delivering outstanding service within the organization’s needs.
Develops and implements process control programs that assure production of finished goods that meet or exceed customer-specified requirements. Requires an ability to work within a diverse workforce as a change agent practicing preventative methodology. Lead continuous improvements by utilizing the appropriate quality tools and provide data analysis. Review design and process changes for effect on product performance. Lead teams, meetings, and training exercises across functions are required. Support and monitor Quality/AS9100/Continuous Improvement efforts across the organization. Oversee customer complaints to determine quality activities required to eliminate issues. Serve as a resource to drive quality-driven activities including SPC, PPAP, and APQP.
Supervisory Responsibilities(if applicable)
Lead and manage a team of FAA DMIRs and receiving inspectors
Promote leadership and guidance to the operations team to meet all quality requirements
Coordinate supplier activities with supply chain to meet required specifications
Duties/Responsibilities
Ensures customers’ quality requirements are met on assigned products, programs, areas, and functions
Plan, direct, coordinate, and participate in any/all of the following:
APQP/ Advanced Product Quality Planning
PPAP / Production Part Approval Process
8D / Eight Discipline problem solving
SPC / Statistical Process Control
Leads Control Plan & PFMEA Development
Promotes general understanding of AS9100 in daily activities
Assist in internal Quality training efforts
Participate in daily Gemba Walks
Participates in Internal Audits
General understanding of IATF16949 activities
Assist in internal Quality training efforts
Participate in Six-Sigma/Continuous Improvements efforts
Identifies and reports quality problems or trends
Recommends and coordinates appropriate corrective action to quality problems
Customer quality interface to ensure requirements are met – Achieve acceptable customer score cards where available
Regulatory agency interface to ensure quality system compliance
Required skills/abilities
Intermediate Excel experience is a must
In-depth knowledge and understanding of AS9100 Quality standards required, as well as the ability to apply it to the organization
Strong analytical and proven team-oriented problem-solving skills required
Solid engineering CAD assessment capabilities, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt (preferred)
Solid leadership, self-motivation, and participative team skills are essential
Ability to interpret customer quality requirements with a strong customer satisfaction orientation
Effective communication skills (written and oral)
Ability to travel less than 10% of the time
Proficiency in Word and Microsoft Teams required
Spanish speaking is a plus

A Bachelor’s Degree (or five years of QE experience) required
