Under the guidance of the Assistant County Administrator, Public Infrastructure, provides visionary leadership for all aspects of Pasco County’s Solid Waste program. Responsible for implementing all applicable strategic objectives as outlined in the County’s Strategic Plan. Develops the departmental business plan and ensures alignment with applicable objectives and key performance indicators. Plans and directs team member activities related to  County–operated solid waste management facilities. Acts as the service agreement administrator and liaison with the contract operators, in their operation of the Resource Recovery Facility and the Biosolids Facility. Trains and mentors subordinate team members, hires new team members, and evaluates work performance. Leads the development  of new solid waste management facilities, annual and multi-year operations and capital budgets, and long-term plans, with the objective of maximizing the life expectancy of the County’s solid waste assets. Prepares reports related to solid waste management and other key performance indicators as required by administration or regulation. Makes sound recommendations on operational and financial matters related to the solid waste business unit. Tracking of current and proposed environmental legislation which directly or indirectly all aspects of solid waste operations.
