ALP Utilities is seeking an enthusiastic candidate to assume the position of Energy Services Coordinator. Located in beautiful Alexandria, in the heart of lake country in West Central Minnesota, ALP is a not-for-profit, public power utility with the mission of “Going above and beyond to improve the communities we serve through operational excellence.” ALP Utilities is an American Public Power RP3 Diamond member. ALP employs 34 professionals and serves roughly 10,000 electric and 4,000 water customers.
The Energy Services Coordinator reports to the Manager of Electric Distribution. This position oversees the daily operations of the load management program and database, as well as, manages the Bright Energy Solutions (BES) program. Managing the BES program includes program promotion, energy efficiency education, processing of rebate application forms, and coordinating with power supplier field staff on a regular basis. The Energy Services Coordinator position also assists with inquiries regarding renewable energy projects (including RECs), cost benefit analysis, available incentives and interconnection requirements and agreements. This position is ALP’s primary point of contact for Key Account customers, and is responsible for developing and maintaining good relationships with them, identifying customer needs, providing billing information, rate and program updates, and customer support. This position prepares the annual MN DOC Distributed Energy Resource Interconnection Report, assists in providing information for the annual EIA 861 reporting and other reports as needed.

The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, able to work independently and willing to take ownership of projects. A minimum of three years related utility work experience with knowledge of industry standards, electricity, electronics, schematics, electrical drawings, marketing of energy services and a bachelor’s degree in a closely related field required or five or more years experience in a related field. Knowledge of energy efficacy and conservation methods are desirable.
