Exciting opportunities are available for postdoctoral researchers who are interested in joining an NIH-funded project that utilizes Drosophila melanogaster as a model system. The objective of the project is to identify miRNAs as epigenetic markers of transgenerational phenotype. The research program aims to understand the epigenetic mechanisms that control developmental changes in susceptibility to neurological and metabolic disorders, as well as disease prevention. Specifically, the project focuses on exploring the role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in epigenetic regulation. The research examines the epigenetic effects that the Western diet and exercise have on the offspring's vulnerability to neurological and metabolic disorders.
