Orange County Transportation Authority seeks to fill a prominent position — Maintenance Department Manager. This senior-level position with four direct reports is second in leadership to the Director of Maintenance. The successful candidate will manage, coordinate, and direct the management of maintenance programs and procedures for vehicles and facilities to support the operation of the agency’s transportation programs.

While displaying high integrity, honesty, and professional expertise, the Maintenance Department Manager develops, recommends, and evaluates the effectiveness of maintenance program performance standards, policies, and practices while monitoring system performance, safety programs, and budget. This position coordinates with other agency business units to ensure service requirements are met, and represents the Department in labor negotiations, industry organizations, Board Committees, and the Board of Directors as appropriate. The incumbent will develop strategic perspectives and take initiative while inspiring and motivating others.
This position requires education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight years of experience in transportation management, vehicle maintenance, or related fields, including four years of experience in managing a maintenance or operations department. Managerial experience in a union environment is preferred. A valid California Class C driver license is required.
Depending on qualifications, the Maintenance Department Manager shall earn Min $162,784 - Mid $195,341 - Max $227,897.
