The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC), the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), the Department of Pediatrics and PCARE, a CHLA enterprise-wide program to advance personalized, genomics-informed care, are actively seeking a full-time physician-scientist at the Associate or Full Professor level.  Salary and resources would be commensurate with rank, qualifications, experience and scholarly accomplishments.

The successful candidate will have an established research program and a demonstrated track record of academic excellence. Investigational areas of priority include neurodevelopmental disorders, metabolism/metabolic disease, cancer predisposition, genomics/epigenomics, early clinical trials, bioinformatics and genomic healthcare integration.  Candidates with well-developed programs in other areas relevant to pediatric translational medicine are also welcomed. Excellent opportunities for collaborative research exist within CHLA and USC. These include working with CHLA’s Center for Personalized Medicine (CPM) to develop highly innovative diagnostic testing, capitalizing on efforts in CHLA’s Saban Research Institute for enterprise-wide patient recruitment and biobanking, implementation of expanded access to timely diagnostic testing and screening, and synergizing with one of the largest cell and gene therapy clinical infrastructures in the western US.

Clinical activity in the Division of Medical Genetics would include inpatient and outpatient consultations.  The candidate would have experience in medical and/or biochemical genetics and would work in a care team that includes physicians, metabolic nutritionists, nurse practitioners, nurses, genetic counselors, and social workers.

Applicants must have an MD, DO or MD/PhD degree, be board certified in clinical genetics, and be eligible for an unrestricted California Medical License.
