A Journeyman Lineworker is a certified position. The position is responsible to construct and maintain overhead and underground electric circuits and equipment, to provide reliable electric service to the Utility’s electric customers. This position requires independent judgment to trouble shoot and restore electric service. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Electric Superintendent and Lead Lineworkers. This position has direct contact with customers.
Work involves moderate physical exertion, heavy lifting and exposure to inclement weather and limited office work. The hazardous conditions of working with high-voltage energized lines and equipment are a critical factor of this job.
Qualifications
Minimum: • High school diploma or GED • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License • Documented Journeyman Lineworker Certification • First Aid/CPR Certification • Forklift Certification • Must be able to work week-long standby hours and emergency call outs.
Preferred: • Additional technical in electrical systems training. • One to three years of experience as a Journeyman Lineworker.
